'pkg' reports under 600 packages available -- and only the python package listed on the "<a href="http://dlc.sun.com/osol/docs/content/IPS/webstacktbl.html" rel="nofollow">Setting Up Your AMP Development Environment</a>" is included. No apache, php, tomcat, mysql, squid, memcached, subversion, cvs, postgres, etc. Even more so, there's no development tools out of the gate. No GCC or CC. So, I had to run off to Blastwave to get anything done. This isn't the case with the OpenSolaris 2008.05 image I downloaded locally (which offered up the 4000+ packages you guys have put together), so I'm pretty sure this is just an issue with the beta program with EC2.
